Equilibrium and temperature

Added by Yenka on Oct 8, 2009

This model shows that temperature can affect the equilibrium point of a reversible reaction. A test tube containing a mixture of two gases is cooled, and then heated, to see how this affects the reactions and changes the relative volume of the gases.

This item teaches:

  • the effect of lowering the temperature of a reaction at equilibrium on the yield of the exothermic and endothermic reactions
  • the effect of raising the temperature of a reaction at equilibrium on the yield of the exothermic and endothermic reactions
