Depositing metals
Added by Yenka on Oct 8, 2009
Compare the usefulness of carbon and copper electrodes in electrolysis experiments. Perform an electrolysis experiment with each set of electrodes, and see that using copper can cause a copper deposit to build up at one of the electrodes, while carbon never participates in the reaction.
This item teaches:
- about the electrodes used in the purification of copper by electrolysis
- about the extraction of copper using carbon
- about the extraction of copper by electrolysis
